Day Out With Thomas

On Saturday we drove up to Peninsula, Ohio to ride The Real Thomas the Tank Engine. We didn't tell Corbin at all when we left. We just told him we were going to visit Nana, who lives close by. The look on his face was priceless when he saw Thomas pulling into the station. He was so excited! It was a really neat experience over all. They had several tents set up all over the grounds with different activities for the kids. Corbin had a blast playing with all the different train sets and watching the motorized ones go. Of the course the biggest tent was the gift shop, which has every Thomas thing imaginable - they even had Thomas potties!

Corbin got his picture with Sir Topham Hat and he got a Rosie tattoo. But the best part was when we got our turn to ride Thomas. Corbin was so excited waiting for him to come into the station. And he and Nora loved everything about the ride. The ride was around 25 minutes and since the train station is located within a National Park we had some beautiful scenery to look at. I think we might do this again next year - although maybe next time we'll go to the Train Museum in Strasburg, PA. Some of the visitors told us that was THE place to experience Day Out with Thomas.

After our train ride we drove the remaining 45 minutes north to my Mom's house, which we were seeing for the first time. It's a nice little house and the layout is pretty nice. It is literally two blocks from Lake Erie. Corbin and Nora had a blast hanging out with Nana, Papa Rob, and Uncle Fox. Nora loved running back and forth from the kitchen to the living room and Corbin loved playing in Uncle Fox's room. We stayed the night since it was such a long drive home. Randall woke up feeling sick and spent most of Sunday sleeping on my parents couch. It was a nice little visit, we should go up and see my mom more often.

*Blogger is being a pain - I'll load the pictures tomorrow.*
