That night I took the kids to the neighborhood party at the school. They had some really nice information and activity booths set up. Corbin liked seeing the patrol horses and the "giant" firetruck. Nora was still tired and I had to carry her the entire time, but she did managed to turn the crank off long enough to get a balloon animal. I wish they had more activities for the kids because the party was on the front lawn of the school, a long distance from the playground around back, so Corbin got bored pretty quickly. We didn't even attempt to wait in line for the free Chik-fil-A meal, it was far too long to wait for something the kids wouldn't eat anyway. So we left early and got some ice cream instead.
Saturday we planned on going for a walk through Highbanks, but on the way there it started to rain so we went to Barnes and Noble instead, which is Corbin and Nora's second favorite store (Target being the first).
Today I was planning on going to the ribbon cutting at the new high school, mostly because I wanted to take the self guided tour and snoop around at the new building. But Nora and Corbin woke up cranky and I wasn't about to let them loose on a new school, especially since the govenor and the mayor were going to be there. I could have gone by myself, but I didn't want to do that either.
