Busy Busy

I've been meaning to update for awhile but it has been so crazy the past few weeks. Everyone is doing well right now. Nora is talking up a storm - she is a wild woman!

On July 27, we went to Randall's family reunion in Baltic, OH. It was the Lautenschleger side of the family. I was really disappointed that more people didn't come, of course I thought this might happen after Randall's grandmother passed away over a year a ago. The kids had a good time playing on the play ground though and they had a good time getting to know some of their other cousins.

August 1,2, and 3 was the Dublin Irish Festival. We went to enjoy the festival on Saturday and the kids had a great time! Nora and Corbin just loved the music and the food! They were so well behaved too. The weather was perfect as well, no humidity, and a nice breeze blowing through the park. Corbin and Nora's favorite part was the Irish Canine tents. Both kids loved looking at all the dogs, Corbin was pretty comfortable petting all the dogs - even the giant Irish Wolfhounds. Nora was more hesitant, but she did eventually pet a pretty Kerry Blue Terrier. We also found out that the kids love corned beef! Corbin also liked the lamb stew, Nora not so much - but she did love the bangers. Before we left the parking lot both kids were asleep in the car.

Randall and I did our volunteer hours at the festival on Sunday. I had to be there at 9am and worked forever! Randall didn't need to be there until 1:00, so he had an easier day. Luckily the credit card machines were working well and I didn't have too many problems. Both our finance ladies were wonderful - Linda was by far the best, she is hilarious! By the time we got home I was so exhausted I went to bed around 9pm, but of course that caused me to wake up at 4:30am - so I'm still trying to catch up on sleep.

Yesterday I made some jam from the blackberries growing in our yard. My first attempt wasn't too bad, but the sugar didn't dissolve completely so it is a little grainy. I'll just keep chugging along until I get better at it. Randall really likes it so I guess it is somewhat successful.

This weekend we're going to Fort Wayne to visit the children's zoo. I hope the kids will enjoy it.
