Updates

It has been a busy month for us! I haven't been updating because I was really focused on finishing the quarter. And it paid off! I finally graduated with my A.A. from Columbus State last Friday! I talked myself into walking and I'm glad that I did. My mom, brothers, grandparents, dad, Randall, and the kids were all there. Surprisingly the whole thing went really quickly, the entire thing was about 1.5 hours. We went to j.lui's for lunch and it was a really nice time all around. My dad *gasp* even picked up the check for everyone - even my mom (ex-wife)! Everyone was very civil to each other and I didn't feel awkward.

The kids are doing great. Nora is a wild woman and is constantly climbing onto something or jumping off of something. Corbin is going through a teasing phase and has become a little defiant, but we're hoping he will get a major attitude check when preschool starts in the fall.

We took the kids to the municipal park last Saturday to see the "Wizard of OZ". It was a really fun time and I hope the community does it more often. I wasn't sure what to expect from the kids, but neither one got scared or wanted to leave before the movie was over. Corbin fell asleep halfway through the movie, but Nora stayed up the whole time asking questions and commenting on all the characters feelings. Lucky for us I made sure to dress the kids warmly and brought their blankets. Unfortunately Randall and I didn't do the same for us. We had the blanket we were sitting on and that was the only thing protecting us from the cool breeze coming from the pond. It was a good test to see if we can bring the kids to the fireworks next month - and I think we can manage, but next time we'll probably have too much stuff.
