Boo at the Zoo

On Sunday we went to "Boo at the Zoo" with my Dad and sister. Corbin was so excited he woke up at 6:30am!! We had to talk him down and remind him we weren't going until after breakfast. Dad took us out to Bob Evans for breakfast. Corbin shoveled his food down and Nora ate only the meat - par for the course. Then they got to put on their costumes!

We decided to try the zoo without strollers because with all the candy stations the kids would be constantly getting in and out. It actually worked out pretty well. Corbin did great the entire time, and Nora only needed to be carried occasionally.

But the best part about the whole day was when Nora rode the pony! We have tried for over a year to get her to ride a pony, but every time she would scream and cry and carry on. So when she said she wanted to ride the pony we thought she would chicken out and Corbin would ride twice. But she climbed up the step stool, let me put her in the saddle, and away we went. She sat tall and straight like she had been riding horses her entire life. The keeper couldn't believe it was her first time riding. I was so proud I almost cried when the ride was finished.
