Conversations with Corbin

Corbin and I were watching the weather this morning. I was holding out hope that the rain on Saturday would hold off until after the parade, which it's not. I shouldn't be surprised because it has rained every year for the past 8 years during the Dublin St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Corbin was really looking forward to it because he remembered that the people on the floats throw candy. I didn't want him to get upset, but I needed to break it to him that we would have to find something else to do.

CONVERSATION:

ME: Corbin, did you see that the weather man said it is going to rain tomorrow morning?

CORBIN: Yes Mommy, I saw the picture with the cloud and rain on it.

ME: Well, because of the rain I don't think we can go to the parade tomorrow. It would be too cold and wet.

CORBIN: That's okay Mommy. Maybe we can go to the bookstore tomorrow. The one with the trains. And me and Nora can get some chocolate milk and Daddy can buy you some coffee. And Mommy, maybe I can take my umbrella so me and Daddy won't get wet in the parking lot and Nora can take hers so you don't get wet.

I think he had this planned out all week . . .
